SADC & Exempt Nationals

Citizens from 29 countries including - Portugal, the USA, UK, Canada, Brazil, China, and much of the EU - are exempt from traditional visas for stays up to 30 days.

If your country is not on the exempt list, you have two primary options for short stays:

  • e-Visa: Apply online at the Official e-Visa Portal. You will receive a pre-approval notification to present at the border.
  • Visa on Arrival (Border Visa): Available at major airports (Maputo, Vilanculos, Beira) and several land borders for tourism. This typically costs $50 USD and allows a 30-day stay, extendable once.
